ASTIST STATEMENT
I am a wood artist that resides in Brea Ca. who primarily creates with lumber destined for the landfill after serving its initial purpose. I enjoy working with all types of wood and experimenting with different techniques and colors. One of my favorite techniques is a Japanese wood burning process called Shou Sugi Ban. This method of charring, cooling and scraping away the softer wood highlights and accentuates the beauty of a natural, flowing grain.
All of my work presented on this page is a one of a kind piece that will not be duplicated. if picture is visible the piece is available for purchase.
Whether creating a landscape scene, a mosaic, an element of nature or a geometric abstract, I follow the path the creation dictates. My desire to convey a particular concept is only limited by my imagination and ability to execute. I appreciate the creative process and the means to bring something visually unique and pleasing into existence.
